IHI Terrasun Solutions was established in 2014. The group was positioned to develop software and provide energy storage products and services utilizing the software. In an effort to develop advanced optimization capabilities, IHI Terrasun Solutions purchased the ESWare software suite from 24M – an advanced, non-linear, economic algorithm-based software.
In March 2020, IHI Energy Storage, a division of the US-based headquarters of IHI Corporation, incorporated as IHI Terrasun Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of the US-based headquarters of IHI Corporation. The company incorporated after meeting several internal milestones and is now known as Terrasun, a solar + storage lifecycle services provider.
